JENNIE WHITE Head teacher
Governor ex-officio since September 2018
Designated Lead for Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Looked after Children and Disadvantaged Children
Committees: Finance, Teaching & Learning
I was appointed Head teacher of Ludwell Community Primary School in September 2018, and I am delighted to be part of such a supportive and welcoming school community. I started my teaching career in prisons and young offenders institutions – a role which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have always been interested in the role between education and later life chances. I am fully committed to ensuring that every child at Ludwell is able to achieve well academically, be challenged in and outside of the classroom and to be taught moral values such as tolerance, respect and honesty, so that they are able to take their place in (and be prepared for) life in a modern, democratic society.
As an ex-officio governor, I attend all governing body meetings and provide detailed and relevant information about pupils' progress, attainment and overall school development on a broad range of curricular activities. A key responsibility is all matters pertaining to safeguarding.I have been married to John for 20 years and we have 4 children ranging in age from 22 to 10. We are a busy and noisy household and you will often find me in the kitchen surrounded by either our 3 dogs – Teddy, Henry and Dave – or our 3 cats – Truffles, Amy and Enid. When I am not at work, I enjoy walking the dogs in the beautiful Somerset countryside, watching The Great British Bake Off, singing (enthusiastically) and the theatre.
