I am the third generation of my family to farm locally in Donhead St Andrew. We grow arable crops and keep sheep and cattle. I started school in Donhead St Andrew, then moved to Motcombe Grange School and Monkton Combe School, near Bath. I completed my agricultural training academically at Royal Agricultural College (now known as Royal Agricultural University), and practically at the Warwickshire College of Agriculture. I gained a 2:2 diploma, Member of RAC and awarded Top Student at WCA. I was a keen sportsperson during my school and college years, playing rugby, cricket and hockey, and was also a rower. I have a number of years’ experience as a governor, including chair, here at Ludwell Primary School. I am also Chairman of Salisbury, South Wilts and Mere NFU branch and Vice Chair of the Wiltshire County NFU.
