Parent Governor since January 2019
I am a great supporter of Ludwell School and parent of 2 children who have attended the school since Reception.
I qualified as a doctor in 1997 and have worked in a number of specialities including psychiatry, public health and over the last 15+ years, in general practice. I am a partner in a small, local surgery where I have worked for the last 10 years. In this role I undertake regular quality improvement activities, and am used to external regulation and scrutiny. My role also involves taking complex, often incomplete information and using this to make difficult decisions. This is coupled with the knowledge and understanding of the individuals and the community which we serve, along with the wider constraints of the NHS.
In my spare time I enjoy art and attend a weekly art class. I am also interested in science generally, and particularly enjoy astronomy and trying to use my telescope (a work in progress!). I love being outdoors and enjoy kayaking, walking the dog and cycling. I am an enthusiastic cook, particularly where spices are involved!
